28th Annual Rogallo Kite Festival
Jockey's Ridge State Park, Nags Head. Honoring Francis M. Rogallo,
NASA scientist and inventor of the Flexible Wing, this two-day
festival will feature our signature kite flying on the dunes of
Jockey's Ridge. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions and demonstrations,
including stunt and power kite lessons. Free children's games and

The Lost Colony’s Theatre Arts Camp, Session I
Waterside Theatre, Roanoke Island. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Teaches
students voice, dance and acting skills, gives them performance
experience, ignites their creative spirit, builds a sense of
accomplishment and community and encourages them to have fun! All
skill levels are welcome. Lunch and snacks are provided. $150 per

Duck’s Summer Music Series
Duck Town Stage. 6 p.m. This popular evening concert series returns
for its fourth season. For six weeks, local musical groups will take
the stage at the Duck Town Park Gazebo. The concerts are from 6:00 -
7:30 p.m. and are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from June 29
through August 5.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair, a picnic dinner and enjoy an early

Third Annual Outer Banks Sandsculpture Festival
Kitty Hawk Sports at Jockey’s Ridge Crossing Shopping Center, Nags
Head. See professional sand sculptures create a 50 ton artistic

Town of Duck’s 6th Annual Independence Day Parade
9:00 a.m. with an after-event following at the Duck Town Park
featuring music by Ruth Wyand & Friends. PLEASE NOTE that the parade
is being held on Monday, July 5, 2010 so as not to conflict with
weekend summer traffic. The one-mile parade route is the same
annually and begins at Scarborough Lane and continues down Ocean Way

the personnel, equipment and vehicles of area Coast Guard, law

include Coast Guard Honor Guard and Color Guard, Coast Guard Search
and Rescue helo and motor lifeboat demo, military flyover, jet ski
ocean rescue demo, Beach Apparatus Drill. $5 per person.
